2022 Logies Wrap

After a couple of years hiatus due to the pandemic, the 62nd Logie Awards were held at The Star on the Gold Coast June 19th, 2022.

Unfortunately, Working Dog weren’t successful for The Cheap Seats Melanie Bracewell to take out the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent, but had success at Most Popular Comedy Program for Have You Been Paying Attention? , even though they were up against themselves with The Cheap Seats.

Having Tony Martin returning for the third year as the voiceover for the ceremony, there were some niche throwbacks, including a nice reference to “Bargearse” via the ABC children’s animated show Bluey. As always, here’s a supercut of Martin’s bits, with cameos by Pete Smith.

The icing on the cake was the Hall Of Fame inductee – Sports commentator Bruce McAvaney. Lo and behold – a throwback within the heart of the tribute – Rob Sitch having a brief discussion about his Bruce impression on The Late Show in 1992.

Congratulations, one and all!
